"When the going gets tough" - the sequel

The hubs is a little blue. It seems being 44 years old makes it hard finding a new job. He kinda wants to switch careers and it's... yeah, hard.
Being the sweet, lovable, stubborn and willful man that he is he does start his own business but things seem slow. I feel for the hubster, I really do.

I know I don't care about fancy vacations, expensive renovations or pricey clothes - I really, truly just want us to be healthy and together. As long as I have my sons, my dog and hubs - I'm all set and ready to go!

And a couple of sweethearts like these, seals any deal :-)

We went a tiny bit bananaz and bought these two - genuine Thomas Sandell for IKEA - to spice up the front side of the house. Simply 'cuz it makes me (us) feel good. I feel totally happy about them!

We had invited The Boy's best friend and his family for coffee and cake -
so hubs all of a sudden fixed a couple of things that were a loooong time coming....

A sneak start on Easter. More of that, coming up in a few days.

My lounge chairs can stand the test of time! Come rain or shine :-)

My husband
My husband is kind, he's smart, he's got a healthy self distance and he is exuberating with ideas, plans, visions and new thinking. It actually breaks my heart seeing him so worried, realizing he feels so un-worthy, since he's now out of a job.
We've never experienced this being out of a job before and it is un-fun.

The lovable man.

He's learning to carpent quite some things, these days.

A good dog helps himself and carries his own blanket.

Weird sounds. Funkie is bewildered.

Scared by the noise....

Spring:y!

Learning to live without running water. Hubs turned the water off - for quite some time.

What a handy man!

There is no splendid conclusion here, in the end of the post. There is no point to be made.
Life is like this: it changes upon you when you least know it and somehow you must adapt and overcome. Getting to know yourself yet a little bit more is always part of the experience and growing inevitably takes place.
I have no idea what is coming in this department but I'm curious to find out. To live and learn.

We already see Wednesday!
Tomorrow is "Pink Thursday" and at 3 PM Pink Thursday my prolonged weekend starts.
Have a wonderful mid-week, y'all!

Monday, Magic Monday!

Magic
My Boy is totally into doing magic tricks, these days. He says it's "totally magic" and shows us trick after trick! He gets really creative in the process and makes up new tricks as he goes along.

Sometimes The Boy gets so into his tricks that he walks around, putting on quite the show, stepping on the dog by accident and then the magical show is over, 'cuz honey, does the dog NOT like that trick...!

Now, how can a Monday be magic, I ask you?
Apart from the delight of having magic tricks performed, there's a other end of the rainbow for me and The Hubster this evening. I say no more right now!

Magical, beautiful - no word does it justice. A bird. Wild and free.

Contrasts. Intense blue sky and white snow.

The innocent little kind and poor dog....?!

Loving his mommy like his life depends upon it.

Perfection in a day.

A lifetime in a day?
If we could fit all the meaningful dealings in a day, what would it contain?

I'm willing to bet that all the things on my bucket-list would be rejected and the day would be filled with the every-day-bucket-list things that I have (as a mini bucket of sorts) and isn't that actually a little weird?

The really-really big, huge, important things in life are fitted in the every-day bucket whereas the not-so-important things are the ones that rank all the way up there as the so-saught-after?
It's natural, of course, that trips to far away places rank up there and that coffee in the kitchen with a husband is every-day bucket.

But there it is.
Had I one day to fit the big ones in, I would have coffee with husband, dog and two sons. All day.
That's a lifetime in a day.
Today I fit a son, a dog and a husband in a day, in a weekend, and all that's missing is my firstborn.
There's no question that I have it all.
Makes me happy that I'm aware of it!

Don't I know it?! Sun worthy of Miami!

Getting into a 100% playful mode.

Yes, The Boy was ill and it's rare seeing him like this. Good thing it has passed.

In this fella's little life every day is the perfect day to play.

And to be indescribably cute. For sure.

Yeah: be still my dog-loving heart!!

Those soccer cards.

Big business.

Easy times.

(always a perfect time to beg, too...)

Yeah, be still, be still my heart. My over all pounding heart.

Daddy playing the fool, pretending to snuck The Boy's Saturday candy away...

Oh, it'll be a good Monday, this!
All day I will look forward to some fun with the hubs and all day The Boy will look forward to some fun with his friend. Unbeatable.

I wish y'all a spectacular week. I'm hoping that maybe maybe I'll have some extra good treats awaiting me this week. But I still don't really know...

Take care out there!

The grail, the unicorn and the rainbow...

Magic
Kelle does it so well, speak of the unicorn and the rainbow. She talks about it being a way of life and she's right.
I too try to make every day special and many moments a little magical by adding new value, new thoughts to it. In my case there is also an element of grail-hunting, since I pursue something daily whether I'm at work or off duty.
To me an important part of life is this pursuit and I don't suppose I'll find any grails but I'm sure I will die trying!

A favorite unicorn.

Leaving it's traces... when there's snow it tells of magic!

My Boy finds it magic, having money of his own.

I can see grail searching in his eyes.

My unicorns and rainbows
Unicorns that I mostly hang out with are birds - they're free, they're singing, they're flying and I adore them all. I keep trying for a perfect shot of them and will keep the task up.  Other unicorns are the sunsets and the sunrises - marvelous and indescribable!

My rainbows lead me from morning 'til evening, from Monday 'til Friday and from one meeting with my firstborn, to another. I'm, guessing they're what will bring me from here 'til eternity too? This thing called life is, for sure, a walk over a rainbow accompanied by unicorns flying beside you.
Who cares where the unicorn comes from or what's on the other end of the rainbow? Isn't that magical walk all that counts? A wonder in its own right?

Why walk the cleared path when there are piles?!

Dancing the day away, even with an upcoming fever!

Rainbow, anywhere?

Loving a Saturday.

Me and my boy.

The rainbow walking family!

Yes, enjoying time together is a treat!

Our equivalent of the Wall Street Bull...

More soccer cards were bought.

Joyful times!

I'm thinking that in the bigger picture you really ought to take this fab attitude and make mind over matter come true and influence yourself in every situation, even the bad ones, the frightening ones?
I guess it takes quite some working on - and there it is: yet another grail to go after!
I'm game and I'm so glad my hubs is game, my sons are both game.
My father has one saying in life and it is "life is an adventure" and he is so right in that! Maybe I got something from him in that department?!

Loading up some birds for you!

Summing all my grails up, makes for this: making every day a favorite day, finding Five Fabs every day, Tuesday Snuggle forever, Thursday Charge Time and the heavenly weekends!!!! How can you not like that prospect? How is that not walking a rainbow, accompanied by a unicorn?

Wednesday's here and it leads to a Friday soon.
After a easy and healthy breakfast, I'm in for a home cooked soup for lunch and another kind of home cooked soup for dinner, at work.

Yep, Wednesday is my longest work day. On the train home there will be music and reading all my friends' status updates at Facebook, probably saying they're busy clearing the paths to their doors in all that snow.
Hopefully there's a unicorn secretly walking beside them, making sure all is well under the moon...
